SOCIAL PORTFOLIO
About a minute

Connecting your brokerage

Social Portfolio can pull your holdings in automatically so you never type them by hand. Pick your brokerage, sign in on its own page, choose which accounts to share, and you are done. Fidelity, Robinhood, Schwab, Interactive Brokers and around 20 others are supported.

You never give us your broker password. You sign in to your broker on its own secure page. Social Portfolio never sees those details, and neither does our server.

How it works

  1. Open Connect a broker

From a portfolio, tap Connect a broker. Or, from your Profile tab, open the gear icon, then Brokerages, then the add button. Both take you to the same place.

  2. Choose your brokerage

Search or scroll the list and tap yours, then tap Connect. A short screen explains what happens next before you continue.

  3. Sign in on your broker's own page

A secure browser page opens for your brokerage. Sign in there exactly as you normally would. Approve the request on your phone if your broker sends one.

  4. Choose which accounts to share

When you are returned to Social Portfolio, pick which of your brokerage's accounts to import and where each one lands, a new portfolio or an existing one. You can leave any account out.

  5. Import

Tap Import. Your holdings are pulled in and encrypted into your vault right away.

If something goes wrong

The connection did not finish

If you close the sign in page before finishing, nothing is connected and you can just try again from Connect a broker.

No accounts showed up

Your brokerage may take a moment to share your accounts after you sign in. Try the connection again in a few minutes.

My holdings are out of date

Brokerage connections can expire, and your broker may quietly stop sharing until you sign in again. Open Brokerages in Settings and tap Repair on the connection, then sign in again.

The numbers do not match my broker exactly

Trades from today may not have settled at your broker yet, so they can take a while to appear. Cash balances also depend on your broker sharing them.

I want to disconnect

Open Brokerages in Settings, then tap Disconnect on the connection. Holdings you already imported stay in your portfolios; nothing more is pulled in from that connection.

What we store

Your holdings are held in memory only for the moment they are imported, then encrypted into your vault on your device. They are never stored on our servers, and your share counts and prices stay encrypted on your device as always.
